What is global warming?
What are the causes of global warming?
How does global warming impact the Earth?
How to prevent global warming?

Ans:

Global warming refers to the long-term increase in Earth's average surface temperature due to the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). These gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere which leads to a rise in temperatures.
Rising temperatures lead to more frequent and severe heatwaves, storms, hurricanes, and droughts, which affect communities and ecosystems.

The primary causes of global warming are human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. However, human activities have significantly increased the concentration of these gases, resulting in an enhanced greenhouse effect.

Global warming impacts our climate and ecosystem. Rising temperatures have led to more frequent and severe weather events, including heatwaves, hurricanes, droughts, and heavy rainfall. These events result in devastating consequences such as food and water shortages, damage to infrastructure, and the displacement of communities. Moreover, global warming resulted in the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, which contributes to rising sea levels.

Coastal regions face a growing threat from rising sea levels caused by the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, endangering both human settlements and wildlife habitats.

Global warming also disrupts ecosystems and biodiversity. Many species struggle to adapt due to changing temperatures. This can lead to shifts in the distribution of plant and animal species, causing imbalances and potential extinctions.

Global warming impacts on human health and well-being. Higher temperatures can exacerbate heat-related illnesses and air quality issues. Additionally, the spread of diseases like malaria and dengue fever is influenced by temperature changes.

Addressing global warming requires efforts on a global scale. The Paris Agreement (2015) aimed at mitigating global warming by limiting the increase in global average temperature to well below 2 degrees Celsius. Signatory nations have committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions through various means, including transitioning to renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and implementing policies to reduce deforestation.

Individuals also have a role to play in the fight against global warming. Reducing personal carbon footprints by conserving energy, using public transportation, and adopting sustainable practices can contribute to the solution.

In conclusion, global warming is a big issue for the Earth's climate, ecosystems, and human societies. Understanding its causes and consequences is essential for taking action. By addressing the root causes through international agreements, national policies, and individual actions, we can work together to mitigate global warming's impact and protect the planet for future generations.
